The Spanish broadcaster has now announced that the auditions for the next season of Operación Triunfo will begin in October.
The auditions will begin in Barcelona, and continue through Spain until November. Other than Barcelona, auditions will also be held in Bilbao, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Santiago de Compostela, Sevilla and Valencia.
The process will first feature a preliminary audition where interested participants will have to queue up and audition in front of the producers. If accepted, they will move to the main audition stage. 211 artists have already moved to the main audition stage through the online casting process, OTFest.
The broadcaster has not yet confirmed whether this season of Operación Triunfo will be used to select the next Spanish Eurovision act. The process was used between 2002 and 2004, and once again in 2018 and 2019.
Miki was selected to represent Spain at Eurovision 2019 with the song La Venda which finished in 22nd place with a total of 60 points. Watch the performance below:
